We were blessed with a healthy son..we would LOVE to have another child, a girl..does anyone know any sure fire way of getting the GIRL??

I'm in the same position. I also have a beautiful boy, and want a girl. You could go to babycenter.com and read about the old wives tales about conceiving a girl. You could possible try those.

Barring artificial interventions, your best bet is to 1) have sex as close to ovulation as possible, and 2) have daily sex for at least 3 days before then. Reason being, 'male' sperm are carrying a lighter load because the Y is so much smaller than the X chromosome; therefore they survive longer. 'Fresh' semen has a slightly higher proportion of X sperm than 'old' semen.
There is a fertility technique which involves centrifuging semen to separate the X from Y sperm on the same basis (i.e. the Y sperm are lighter). This can be up to 90% effective at separating X from Y, but is awfully rough on all the sperm so you may have to do it several times before enough survive to give you a conception. And it's expensive.
Personally I'd rather let nature take its course. But that's me.

Theres a great book, How to choose the sex of your baby, could probably find it at amazon or ebay. I used it and have the first girl in my family. It sounds pretty scientific too. I believed in it and it worked! Had to take my temp. every morning to find out how regular I was with ovulating, did that for about 6 months, then you count the days from your ovualtion day and do the do, has something to do with your egg and the life of the sperm. Girl sperm live longer than male...really cant remember, its been 16 years now but have a beautiful daughter!

If you know exactly when you ovulate, have sex 2 days before you ovulate and that's it. Here is what happens, the male sperm has 2 chromosomes, Y (boy) and X (girl) the chromosome X lives longer than the Y so if you have sex before ovulation, most of the Y chromosomes will die, leaving the X chromosome alive and with more chances of conceiving a girl. If you have sex the day you ovulate, the chromosome Y overpowers the X so you are more likely to have a boy. So try having all the sex you want 2 to 3 days BEFORE ovulation.

there are scientific facts that show that female sperm are slower than male sperm, to concieve a girl, doctors suggest on having intercoarse a day or two before ovulation so that the female sperm have time to reach the egg
