When I started it up (after it had been sitting for a while in about 32 F temperatures) I noticed a clicking coming from the engine which maybe sounded like lifters, is this a potential problem--and or should i steer clear of this vehicle. The Truck had about 148,000 miles on it--

Woah!!! 148K and noise....nope... stay away from it. You dont know how it was treated, how often the oil was changed and so on. Most people neglect their vehicles never changing the oil and air filters, then they get rid of the vehicle after they run it into the ground. If you really want to buy it take it to a garage and have a mechanic look it over for you. Good Luck.

Sometimes people put stp or real heavy oil in older high mileage vehicles to make them not smoke or to give them more compression.However this can cause lifters to make noise.If you don't know if this vehicle has been doctored up I would stay clear of it.
