Does anyone have any good ideas? I have a final speech due and it is a persuasive speech and it must make the audience take an action in class!! For example convincing the class to be organ donors and handing out an organ donor card for them to sign, but I can't do this one because someone already has done it. I'm stuck! Please help!! I had an idea on problem gambling but I don't have an actgion for them to take in class....

Encourage them not to gamble, then bet them $10 they can't do it. The appropriate action would be to not take the bet. If they take the bet, the action is to give you $10. I think you'll win for sure.

I had to do one of these presentations in my communications class. My topic that was a hit was a "call to action" to protect Yellowstone National Park. My parts were the geysers, hot springs, and paint pots. It talked about how many people went to the park and gave a "tour" from Roosevelt Arch, through the canoyn and ending at Old Faithful Basin. It got peoples attention and encouraged them to act to protect Yellowstone. I used overheads to add visuals to the oral presentation.

Good luck on yours.

Interesting project. Almost like the movie "Play it forward". I think that everyone knows at least one person in school who is hurting or is disadvantaged and pretty down. Could that have the makings of a project where everyone promises to do something for at least one such person if nothing more than making some positive comment to the person who is hurting. It doesn't cost anything to say something nice to a person who is having a hard time. Making another person feel better about their station in life actually makes you feel better about yourself.

Of all things, I looked up "persuade me" on Yahoo and found a bunch of stuff, mostly on voting. Here's some good sites I found.

Good luck!
