It makes you look incredibly fake. It makes guys wonder: does she really look bad if she has to hide her face?

Bad - always bad. The cakey look is gross. Guys hate the cakey look too. Go for a more natural look - use a little concealer on any noticable pimples you may have, and then get a good liquid foundation and mix it with a bit of moisturiser and blend onto your face in a circular motion. Then wear some mascara and some lip gloss (maybe a little bit of eyeliner if you think you need it) and you're good to go! Another good trick is to put cream blush on underneath your foundation to give you that blood-rushing-to-the-cheeks look. I hope that was helpful - have fun!!

It's really up to you. But generally I think a lot of cover up does make a face look cakey.

Cakey makeup? Definately looks too fake.
If you need to even our your skin, try using a light foundation (Maybelline Dream Mousse works well) and then coverup only where you need to.

Too much can be bad. Use a mineral foundation. I started using one and I can't stand anything heavy on my face anymore. Foundation is just to highlight your features. You don't really need to cover a lot up unless you have bad scaring. Be proud of your face and take care of your skin. Your skin is your biggest organ.

I think a more neutral looks so much better because one thing is that you if you look like you have to much cover on people will look at you in a weird way but you want people to notice how good you look so you do it in a good taste way and look clean

Do you put it on really thick or what? If you use a thin formula of foundation, it will look more natural and not be so clogging to your pores. Less is usually better. Just try even using it on spots on your face and just play up the lipgloss blush and mascara.

it will only look false and cakey, if you
1. use a cheap product
2. apply it wrong
3. apply too much
good foundation is very important, but only if you need it. if you have many blemishes, uneven skintone, so on. if so, instead of using lots of concealer, invest on a good foundation. finding the right tone is absolutely vital! and finding the right one for your skin type. apply the foundation with your finger tip, blending in properly and thoroughly. never apply it like lotion or moisturiser.

It doesn't look good at all, honestly.
If you must wear cover-up, only put on a little bit where your skin is uneven, but don't put a ton on pimples--it only makes them worse usually. I occasionally put a bit of light powder on to brighten my skin slightly. Alos, always use the closest thing you can to your natural color--darker looks terrible. If you can't find the exact shade of your skin, go to the lighter one that is closest and avoid putting on too much.
That's my opinion anyway.
