Of course this is an interesting question. it goes along with the question of infinity...time and space...parallel universes and the like...what's real...what is imagined?
How do we know if our reality is the actual reality? We don't. But it doesn't matter, because we must get up in the morning, get dressed, get the kids ready for school, pack a lunch, feed the dog, go to work, get along with our co-workers, come home, eat, mumble to the wife, sleep, get up in the morning.... and that, for all practical purposes, is what's actually happening, because we feel we must tend to it...and the things we decide we must tend to ...is our reality. To do otherwise is to fail.

True experience is present when we experience the world impartially without any emotional bias, prejudice and dictates.
For example, if you were slapped and feel pain, that's a true experience. But if you were to think the slapping is bad, that life is unfair, etc, then these perceptions of yours are not true experience.
If you got stung, you do know very well you indeed got stung and the experience is very real. But if you feel bad and start to get emotional and judgemental that in such a way you start to subconsciously perceive the world as something different from reality, because of your emotions, then such perception is false and unreal - thus is being manufactured in your brain.

Yes, we are living in the here and now. Your brain can only provide the info that your senses sent to it. Yep, we are awake and living. This sounds like a Matrix fan.

OOOhhhhh GOOD QUESTION.I could write 17 pages here and not even scratch the surface.
Instead I'll ask you to go to the closest video store and rent
"What the bleep do we know?"This is a wonderful video that addresses the nature of reality and the questions you pose.
The answers will not only suprise you, they'll blow your mind!

this is a question popular in idealism and to me thats the dumbest question a paranoiac can ask. why would your senses provide you wrong information about reality?
