The Confederate Flag is appaling. I feel that it should be banned in every high school in the country becvause it promotes racism which is a main factor in today's terrorism. BAN THE REBEL FLAG!!! But just use ur 1st Amendment Rights..Get a petition!
By the way, I am from the south. I am a Tennesseean and am proud, but I don't condone racism! Thank You!

If you are trying to take the Confederate flag from proud Southerners, good luck. The Confederate flag is only a racist symbol to racists. Proud Southerners are remembering our heritage. I don't hate because of race, but I am proud of my heritage. My family fought for states rights not slavery, and so did many other Southerners including black land owners.

Why do you want to ban it? If it is bothering you, then you have some issues that you need to deal with. Such as reality, yeah, that's a good place to start. The war has been over for years. Noone alive today was there or had anything to do with what you THINK it means. Get over it already. Find something useful to waste your time on.

I'm a Southerner and am proud of that flag. I'm not a racist, incase you're wondering. That flag is not a symbol of racism, it's a symbol of people wanting their freedom from the oppression of the US, most notably the North. If you really want to try to ban something, go after the Neo Nazis or the KKK. I'm sure those groups are in your area. They are truly symbols of racism.

I think you should keep it. Why? 'Cause like it or not, it's a symbol of history, and history's Damn Important, 'cause it helps us figure out where to go in the future. So, throwing away history isn't such a hot concept. I don't think it should be on the flagpole, but keep it, read about it, read about the civil war, and so forth. Don't just cave to the PC revisionists whose strong suit is bullsh it...

Honestly we should not ban anything. Especially a Flag that shows a piece of yours and my History.We are supposed to respect where each other came from. This is showing hatred.
