I would reconsider the mini skirt considering the occasion is a time that brings family and friends together with nothing else in mind then sharing. A sweater with warm tones and perhaps black slacks would be appropriate.

Leggings and a denim mini would look great. A lighter wash of denim that is distressed a little bit would look best with leggings. Something like this would be cute:

umm how bout some cute fitting dark jeans, with a cream colored sweater(off white is good too) with one of those jackets that looks like a blanket u kno they're like orange pink and white or blue light blue and white. and some timberlands(same color as jacket), dont have tims wear some snowboots or spearys. simple accessories, silver necklace with color of jacket. then some cute silver earrings and a tennis bracelet.
Sorry idk wat the jacket is called but email me and ill tell u. i should have what it looks like by then
