While I don't have side by side comparisons, I can give you a modern comparison. MS Sovereign of the Seas is very close to the size and compliment of the Titanic. The Titanic was about two and one half feet longer than the Sovereign. However, the Sovereign is about two feet wider. The Titanic's compliment (passengers and crew) was about 2,223. The Sovereign is about 2,852. Their displacements are very different due to technology, but overall, the sizes are very close to use for comparison.

The titanic in her day was huge but by the 1930's she was a pip squeak. The Queen Mary was over 80,000 tons and she was built in 1936. So by the 2000's the ships make titanic and Queen Mary look very small. The important thing is that the new ships have safety features that the other ships didn't have like all weather life boats for all passengers and crew. They also have life rafts. The new ships also have far more water tight compartments than Titanic and those compartments go all the way to the main deck. The only worry I have on the new ship designs is that they appear top heavy and they have large windows near the water line. The navigation equipment on these new ships is almost star trekish with GPS and collision avoidance radar and bow and stern thrusters to maneuver the ship in ways other ships could only dream about. However with the constant bouts of food poisoning you might want to bring a good supply of pepto-bismol.

The Titanic was about 50,000 gross registered tons.

Many modern cruise ships are over 100,000 gross registered tons.

Here is a list of cruise ships with their tonnage:
