I've met quite a few famous people. I grew up in the (small) spotlight and my parents were friends with people such as Ray Sharkey, Ann B. Davis, Robert Palmer, various politicans; a wide variety of people. Many are dead now; others we lost contact with and I've had no desire to renew old friendships. I was on tv a few times as a kid and I didn't see and still don't see any glamour in being well-known or famous.
People are people to me, and I've dated actors, a couple of models, as well as people of many other professions. I've found people in the spotlight are generally much more insecure and less likely to know what they want in life. I like people who know who they are and who are secure.
Ann B. Davis and Duncan Regehr for example got much more interesting in my opinion when they stepped out of the spotlight and went on to living on a commune (Davis) and painting/being an artist (Regehr).
I'm much more likely to avoid being around or talking to someone famous than not famous. I couldn't get far enough away from Angelina Jolie each of the two times our paths have crossed. I saw how she treated other people and you couldn't pay me enough to be in the same time zone with her.
There are exceptions though. I met Dr Ruth skiing years ago and she's SO much fun and so sweet! She's awesome! When I was 16 I talked to Sam Waterston (in the seat next to mine) on a long flight and enjoyed his company (didn't care he was famous). I loved Robert Palmer's sense of humour and of course his music.

Well - not sure if he's really famous - but remember Lou Albano - he was a wrestler and he put rubber bands in his beard (this was many years ago). Met him once at a restaurant - that's as far as my run-ins with famous people have got.

I did also see Dennis Franz (from NYPD Blue) in the airport - didn't meet him - just saw him.

Well, since you ask, I met Ronald Reagan a long time ago when I was in college. I was in the same fraternity that he was in.

And that's me with Lance Berkman of the Astros in my thumbnail photo.

I've met quite a few other athletes over the years.

Yes I have. I meet LL cool J one year because I won back stage passes to see him and he was very sweet and talked with us for a while about how we were doing in school. Crazy but true. It was great. Also one time I meet Jennifer Aniston in new york, she was shopping, she only said Hello to me and my friend so I don't know if that counts.

Christopher Reeve came and watched us play softball in his special van and wheelchair. It was just an ordinary game; not sure why he came - he was visiting someone who lived here. He was very cordial and talked with a lot of us.
