I hope you told your mom and had those knees checked out. If you have a doctors excuse, the coach will be more understanding. I agree, if you don't practice, you shouldn't be on the team. Find out what's wrong with your knees and if there isn't anything wrong with them, get out there and practice and quit being a baby!

I'd fight it tooth and nails. Our teams require injured to be at practices to watch-could that be the case?
If they take you off the team for being injured I'd have a trusted adult intervene (principal, superintendent of schools, parents), make sure you have a doctors note, and if you're teammates really like you they can petition the judge or even strike on your behalf.
Don't let yourself be a victim if you feel strongly that you want to stay on and play when your knees get better.

dude you have GOT to show up even if you cannot practice , if you have to CRAWL you have got to show up for practice my son played football and no matter what if someone didn't show up for practice he did not play in the next game and not very much in the one after that even if they claimed an injury.. football is NOT for crybabies, In sports NO MATTER WHAT kind of excuse you have and that includes injuries practice is for MORE than playing a practice scrimmage or whatever it is about THE TEAM . the only good excuse is if you are IN THE HOSPITAL or dead. go to practice. even if you just watch you are a part of a team. get some heart ps NEVER CONFRONT YOUR COACH OR YOU WILL BE WARMING THE BENCH FOR 99 % OF THE REST OF YOUR SEASON I PROMISE

Go to the Dr. if you can, they may be able to write you a note, chances are that the Dr. will find a reason for you not to play, if you have a Dr, excuse they shouldn't be able to take you off the team, good Luck:)

Get off the team, heal, and practice again when you're well to be bigger and better than anyone, ever.

You need to suck it up and go to the doctor.
Does not sound like it is going to get better by going again.
