Ok, I was thinking about asking for an Ipod for christmas. ((4g pink nano)) but my dad says that I should ask for a 30g because its only 50 more dollars and 26 more gig. I'm not really sure which one to ask for now...so what are your opinions? Thanks!!

there are pros & cons to both.
the pink nano is cute, but only holds about 1000 songs. the battery lasts longer, but it has less capabilties (it's only a music player & picture viewer). it's smaller, if that is important to you. it's also the only ipod compatible with the nike+ line, if you're interested in getting the nike+ sports pack and using it to assist you in monitoring your workouts.

the ipod, on the other hand only comes in either black or white, but the 30GB version can hold up to 7500 songs. not only do you have the ability to listen to music & look at pictures, but you can watch videos as well. so you can watch podcasts or tv shows or movies or whatever else (search the store in the iTunes library to look through some of the things available).

so if the tiny, cute, pink look appeals to you, you don't have a huge music library and you want to use the Nike+ system, then the nano is the way to go.

however, if you're more interested in the ultimate entertainment center in the palm of your hand: holding a larger number of music files, pictures and video capabilities.. the iPod is for you.

i have both a nano and an iPod and both are really awesome... i haven't had problems with either product.

HEY...I just bought the 4 gig pink Nano and got it today!! I am LOVING it. I debated the same thing about the Nano vs the 30 gig Video but the Nano uses a flash drive and the Video has a hard drive. I didn't want to worry about damaging the hard drive if I dropped it whereas with a flash drive that won't hurt it, so I went with the Nano. I didn't want to watch movies or anything like that, so the Nano was fine for my needs. Plus I liked the pink color versus the black or white Video iPods. Good luck!

OVCOZ 30gig is good....
and it will be video enabled, so u can wach full length movies on it, as well as 3-4-5000 songs and on top of the u can also play GAMES on it too. AND u can use it just as a Hard drive too.

with this many posibilties y wound u even wanna think about bying a nano witch cant do any of these.

oh and the only thing is that it comes on in Black and White.

Go for the 30g. It's more worth it. The 4 gig can only hold 1,000 songs. The 30g holds 7,500 songs and is much better if you want to put in videos or tv shows and the screen is bigger for just such.

do you work out? because if you do, you want the nano. it's smaller, lighter, and you can use a clip with it.

i have a 20 gig, and it's not heavy or anything, but i hate working out with it.

if you want to just carry around all your music with you, and he's offering you the 30, get it.

If you work out the 30 gigabyte iPod is not for you. The hard drive can't handle that kind of abuse. It sounds like you're dad is really buying for himself, not for you. hehe.

if your dad doesn't mind paying for it GET IT! the only reason you shouldnt get it is if you really want a real color or r looking for a small size.
