That was the name given to the daughter of "Murphy Brown", the TV character of the 1990's.

Nice name.

Ultimately the choice or decision is up to the parents (or in some cases the relatives) of the child but I think some thought should be spared for the child too. Consider how the name might affect their life, whether it is a name that might attract negative attention (especially once the child is in preschool and beyond).

The name Avery sounds unusual though it has a nice sound to it.
What is your reason for considering the name Avery as opposed to other names? I think it would be okay to consider the name Avery for a female baby.

It is okay to name your baby what ever you want to; personally, I think Avery would be a very pretty name for a girl.

I like it very much. Avery Nikole was one name I had as an option to name my daughter. I went with Aleigha Kacie instead.

Why not, that is a very nice name. Simple & not likely to get shortened to something else. I sometimes am disappointed with what a good name can get whittled done to.
