Courts nationwide are pretty much standard when it comes to child custody. Judges will almost always award custody to the mother unless she can be proven to be unfit by charges of child or drug/mental abuse. This has to be hard evidence such as police or medical reports. The mother of course can always refuse custody but this is very rare. The father gets state mandated visitation rights and usually ends up paying child support amongst other things. Just dont ever falsely accuse a mother of being unfit without concrete evidence as this is only hearsay and judges hate hearsay immensely.
