In many cases socks are stolen... by Unicorns, they use them as horn mufflers. In some cases the odd sock of a pair becomes jealous of the special treatment of the not-so-odd sock, and simply runs away. These odd ones can usually be found living in small clutches, deep in the woods, where eventually they too fall prey to the Unicorn.

It depends on which odd sock it is! If it's the sock lost in the washer it goes to washington. If it is the sock that makes it thru the washer to the dryer it goes to the trashington.
