Not only does it make no difference when I enter the password but I cannot even cancel the box as it immediately returns. What's wrong?

Try looking in the "Identities" section which you get to from the "file" menu on Outlook Express. I have found that when using a broadband connection setup, sometimes another identity is set up without you being aware of it and this may cause you this type of problem. Once you have chosen the correct identity you want to use, you can delete the second one by going into "Manage Identities". Make sure you delete the correct one though. Also, it may be worth checking that you have ticked the "remember password" box. You can get to this from the Tools menu, select "Accounts", then the "mail" folder. This should show your Pop3 account details, then go to "Properties" and select "servers" and make sure the tick for remember password is there.
Good Luck - Tim

it sounds as although someone has gotten into the BIOS and set a non-administrative password besides as an administrative password (probable) and if that's the case you'll favor the password from the guy that has put in it. Now if no one (will admit) has finished this, then you will favor to sparkling the BIOS and reset it to production unit defaults which will sparkling the passwords from the gadget. if that's coming up after abode windows starts yet purely receives to a log in computer screen then you will favor to get into the authorities log in and modify the password for the log in that you're having a situation with and in case you won't be able to do this from the Administrator get perfect of entry to (in secure Mode) then you could might want to locate some software which will erase each and every of the log in passwords on the gadget (on NT classification Os's) if that's ninety 8 then all you would possibly want to do is locate abode windows explorer and browse to the abode windows folder and locate the PWL archives listed contained in the abode windows folder and delete them and the subsequent time you reboot you'd be brought on for a password purely hit the enter key then it's going to recreate the PWL document with out password in it.

That's strange - I thought that was a Yahoo problem (asking for your password all the time).

Have you tried your local PC centre for advice. Unfortunately, the most I can get out of this question is 2 points. I would love to help, honestly.

This has happened to me. I had to find the original password issued when I set up the account, which I think I obtained from MSoft. Mind you, I can't remember,it was so long ago.
