Tell me your story and what have you done to protect yourself?

When I managed 5 pizzas stores, I had two drivers robbed:
1. Female driver delivered to a very rich neighbourhood. Before she knows it, she takes a baseball bat to the forehead. Some rich punk who was wasted wacked her to get free pizza. She sustained a concussion. Teen got off due to our wonderful Young Offenders Act
2. Male driver, 55 years old, gets jumped by three teens. He receives a black eye. One of the teens ends up in hospital for a week with a broken jaw and bruised nuts.
3. I had a guy pull a knife on me ( the rare occasion that I chose to deliver as Ineeded a break from the store). I retreat to my truck and pull out my 9 iron....guy took off.
Many of my guys carried large mag lites that they slid up their sleeves...

I know a guy ordered a pizza and when it got to his house he took the pizza and shut the door in the delivery guys face without paying. I call this robbed.

I been driving for 5yrs for many pizza shops and the closest i got to being "robbed" was last yr when i wasdeliverying to a rich area of town and i went to the door there was a lady say she thort she had money to pay but can't find it. She said come in. Now the smart thing to do here is walk away, but i wasn't thinking. So i said "what for" <>>?? Had to make it quick cos i had another delivery in the car waiting to be delivered. I left the pizza and garlic bread. she didn't pay for them with money, now did i get robed??

Every last one of them. I'm not a delivery driver myself, but I've heard the stories from a coworker who has a part time job with Papa Jhon's.
He does it by the book a lot, but mostly it's a point of getting in the vehicle and getting the hell out of dodge before they can reach you.
Also, keep a gun under the seat just in case it comes to it.

I was a robber, We called a pizza delivery to an empty house in a court. When the driver pulled up, we came out with bats. He gave us the pies. they were really good but I felt really bad. That was a long time ago. Nobody got hurt thank God !!

well not to scare you or anything but I know of a kid that killed when he was delivering pizzas to a apartment complex. The two people that lived in the apartment were high on drugs and thought that it would be fun to attack the young man and take his money..instead it ended up in murder.
My suggestion is to know that area that you are delivering to. And if you want to know how to protect your self carry Mace or take a self-defense class.

Ya I actually saw it a HOBO was so hungry he knocked out the pizza guy and took the wallet & the pizza!
