Its so freaking stupid how women in the U.S don't have equal rights! When sexist people ask me what are the benefits of equal rights i didn't have an answer, i did say it motivates women to do everything they can, but i have no facts and other opinions to support that, does anyone have any opinions or at least websites with opinions and facts about women's rights? If so, please tell me, it's about time I give that sexist fool a piece of my mind!

I believe that women do have equal rights.

In practice, however, the benefits of such rights are not always accorded.

This is because of fear and ignorance. Not just the fear and ignorance of men. Women do it too. Many women act in such a way as to justify the lack of respect that they are accorded.

Women do have to take a long hard look at how they can rectify this. This involves looking at self sufficiency, proactivity, academic preferences, life priorities, etc. Take a look at the institution of marriage, a legal agreement in which a woman often gives up her name and her body to a man who pays her bills. It is difficult to be seen as an equal by men when one is wearing a wedding ring. It infers a slew of stereotypes, the first of which is financial dependence. This is sad but true. I know, I've been there.

It is relevant to look at how women come to solutions and solve problems, support themselves and their children, and how women deal with adversity, responsibility, vision, and joy. Look at how women and men work together productively and collaboratively.

The statistics you seek will likely not change minds - I think the proving ground happens one at a time, anecdotally.

So, how do you personally prove to others each day that women are a fundamental force in the beauty and success of this Earth? I answer your question with another question...

it doesn't
women claim to want equal rights
but then balk at such measures as equal work hours equal pay, as women work less than men in a given year
they want flex time, men generally don't
few women are truly a man's eqaul,
Oprah being one of them, and it's becuase she took the equivalant path that a man would take to get her unparralleled level of success, that is she worked long hours, probaly 7 days a week, she never married or had children, nothing that would set her back in getting her empire built, and once there it ( her empire ) requires a lot of attention to keep it running on top.
but most women are not willing to do that... so they cry glass ceiling
the fact that Oprah is both African American and a Women shows there is indeed no glass ceiling. She will not look back and cry foul, she had indeed made her self into an American Icon an is the embodyment of success, and as such people like her be it a man or women NEVER compliain about what it took to get their. Until women start seeing hard brass tacks and just going for it doing the same efort that it takes, tey will always claim they lack equal rights.

BTW recent high profile divrce cases now have some womens groups to make sure a MAN signs a prenuptial agreement as those who are have rising incomes now see what men have unfairly gone through when it comes to the divorce process. Now women do not want all there hard work taken down to 50% of what they used to have if a marriage doe not work. I say welcome to equality.

Well, when women entered the workplace, our economy was able to grow by leaps and bounds. That's what happens when you are able to tap into the strengths and talents of an entire society, rather than just having to use part of it. Think of it this way: how many female Newtons and George Washingtons and Shakespeares have we lost just because, for thousands of years, we decided women belonged only in the kitchen?

You should tell them granting them equal rights benefits humanity because women are human. They're half of humanity.

Its just about loving your neighbour like yourself. Men dont love us like themselves and its time they do and stop with their men-privileges.
