I don't think men have a problem with commitment so to speak. What we have a problem with is evil minded women that try to take every thing that the guy sweats his a** off for trying to give her as good a life as he possibly could. Every thing is slanted to the woman. She can go out and mess around with other men and get pregnant by some other guy and still take half of what her husband makes in a divorce or' He can be raising a baby that doesn't belong to him and find out in a couple of months that the kid is not his but he still has to pay for it while the real dad is out there messing around. There is way more than this. This is just a small piece of the reason that men have a hard time committing.

I agree with the guy above me.Woman do the same thing. Everyone have a fear of commitment, not just men. It can be a little scary at times, but for the most part, it could be fun. What could be more than finding your soul-mate?

I don't nor have I ever had a fear of commitment, even after being cheated on by wife. It depends on the person I think, I do believe that there is someone out there for all of us. We just have to be willing to open up our hearts and let love in, once that is done the rest is easy.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that 2/3rds of all divorces are filed by women, and stay at home moms can run up your credit cards and leave you holding the bag and in many areas, take your kids too.

I think a better question is, why, given that divorce is often so skewed in favor of women do men even bother to get married anymore?

Most men DON'T have a fear of committment. They just fear committing to you.

When they find the girl they want to marry, they ask.

Because we're not asking you to support us financially; to defend us against the world; to be our provider, to build our house, maintain our cars, promote our careers... That's our job, and you're asking all of that from us.
Getting married is a huge responsibility for a man, with no guarantees he will succeed, and certainty that you will let us know when we don't. What do we receive in return? What strength and security and safety do you offer? Compared to what is required of us, very little. You may stand behind us, but we stand in front of you against the world.

No sane man would do so unless he was VERY sure you're worth the risk.

usually they aren't ready to be responsible for maintaining(financially and emotionally) a long term relationship or being a father to children.... a lot of men mature later (emotionally)
