Yes, mostly because they tend to feel lonely, by the constant deployments and jodie just jump into the situation and wrecks the home. It's a very sad situation.

Unfortunately there is a lot of this that goes on around the military communities. I served for more than four years. During that time I was assigned to Camp LeJuene North Carolina, with the 2nd Marine Division. At that time, the city of Jacksonville, NC didn't have much going on in the way of decent bars to hand out at. Almost all were either way over priced or they were topless bars. Because most Marines are male first and broke second, we almost always went to the little dive topless bars. My personal favorite was called "The Brown Bagger."
Anyway, it always amazed me that when a unit would deploy overseas, the women in the topless bars would all change. This was because the Marines from the unit that just deployed were away, their wives would head for the topless joints and a little extra cash. But also because the Marines for the unit that was currently deployed would be headed home in a little over a week. So, about every six months, the strippers at the topless bars would turnover completely. It was like clockwork. You could set your watch by it. My buddies and I would joke about it constantly. "Hey, 3/6 just deployed. Let's head to "The Brown Bagger" and check out their wives!"
It goes without saying that many military wives do not cheat...but sadly, there are more than a few that are all to willing to the second that their husbands deploy overseas.

It goes both ways. When I was out underway, some of the married guys were picking up the girls as much as the single guys. However, I know at least one set of wives that basically had a prostitution ring while the husbands were away at sea.
The worst story that Jerry Springer has ever shown has nothing on what I have seen or heard in the military.
The only marriages that I saw work out were the marriages that were well established before either of them joined the military. It was the reason I never got married while I was in the military.

I am a military wife. I have never cheated on my husband while he was away, never thought about it. If you love your husband and know that he loves you, you don't have a reason to cheat. He should be worth waiting for. Some of my husband comrades wives cheated on them and they were very hurt by it. I believe if you cheat while your husband is away that was something you really wanted to do before he left. Yes, you do get lonely and horny, but I just don't believe in cheating.

Well not all ...my husband was a marine..we were not married at the time. And he said he saw LOTS of marriages fall apart because wives cheated while their men were on ship or in the desert. However....what do you think these military men are doing in the foreign countries they stop off at. I am guessint there are as many guilty soldiers as wives. It all comes down to trust. If you are a good, honest, faithful man or woman you will NOT cheat.
In fact...out in pendleton...I believe my husband said the wives are called the west pac widows...whatever. Its wrong to cheat. My husband now works an opposite shift than me.....I miss him...but I don't cheat on him...I miss HIM.....not some stand in.

Cheating isn't more common in the military than it is in the civilan world. Yes, some wives in the military cheat on their husbands, but some husbands also cheat on their wives. Loneliness could be a reason, but so could stupidness.
Many couples don't cheat at all. They remain always faithful and so do their husbands and when that happens, absense really does make the heart grow fonder :-)

my husband is in the army and I do get lonely but I have never cheated on him but there are a lot of women who cheat on their husband while they are gone. Just like there are a lot of women who do not cheat

Not at all, Ive been with a military man for 8 years, we have lots of military friends. Not 1 that i know of ever cheated on her husband. As a matter of fact absence makes the heart grow fonder and anticipating the arrival of your man is something you cling to. Sometimes its lonely, but being alone is not that bad when you know someone else is patiently waiting to see their love again as much as you.

HOnest answer? I was in the service, and when ever a unit deployed then it shorly after it was like a new red light district. Yes wves of military men do cheat when there husbands are deployed, last stats showed about 90%
