I am with Frank, I do not think most teens drop out of school. Most states have enacted legislation that compells them to stay in school until they are 18. Additional legislation is being considered to further penalize drop outs, such as taking away their driver's license.

On the contrary, more teens than ever are finishing school and graduating than ever. Overall our younger generation are good people who strive to live a good life and the place to start is to finish school.

Because they are very very stupid, and don't want to have any direction in their life. That is why can have soooo many McDonald's, Wendy's, KFC, BK, Dunkin' Donuts, etc., etc., etc. Get my picture? If it wasn't for dropouts, we would have far less places such as these. And, if you are thinking about quitting, what a sorry mistake you are making for a career! Because there will be none there for you. Even the friends you make will most likely be of the same level as you. Besides, go to bed, and actually sleep at night, then you won't be tired at school. I may be an old B%st@rd, but I do keep up on things like this. Right now, my friends son is going through this very same stage in life. He is 15, and a sophomore. He also stays up half the night. But you can hardly blame it on school, when it is something you are bringing on yourself. Good luck to you. Keep your *** in school, if you know what is good for you! Thanks.

I would have graduated in 2005, but I dropped out with three months of my senior year left. I had so much on my plate, i was working, trying to get my act score up, i was the editior and cheif of the highschool newspaper and co captain of the cheerleading squad. There were things that were happening at school, things that were done that i told people about, but they blew it off and didnt want to act like it was a serious problem. Most adults think when a teenager says they have a problem, they think oh well what do they know about problems, just wait until they get a little bit older and they will see what problems are. But things that go on in our lives are really huge and sometimes its like there is no way out of them. If people maybe would have took me a little more seriously i would have stayed in school, but dropping out was the only way I got relief from my problem, and no i dont regret dropping out.

Most teens don't drop out of school. Of those who do drop out, it's often because their parents did not teach them the importance of education from a young age if at all. Other kids drop out after becoming depressed and/or making poor choices, such as drug use, unwanted pregnancies and hanging out bad influences. Other students drop out of school to work full time and support their family.

There are lots of different reasons. I don't think most teens drop out just some. I did, mainly because I wasn't learning anything I didn't already know. I dropped out got my GED and was in college before most teens my age were senoirs. My husband dropped out to help his family when they had a hard time earning money. He also got his GED. But, I've know others who dropped out because they didn't want to apply themselves. Sometimes it's because of the failing education system in our country. Mainly it depends on the person.

They don't realize how important studies/degrees/diplomas are in real life.
They think they can make good money without education.
When there parents along with everybody else tell them to stay in school they don't understand the weight of the situation,Didn't you use to turn a deff ear when your parents said that.I know i did.
Now i regret it.
