if thats the only two choices: Laptop or Ipod
Then definately the laptop - u can use instant messenger & web-cam with friends. Thats heaps better than an ipod or even mobile phone...
But if it can be anything at all, then tell your family/ friends that because its the first of the 'teens' & that now U are a teenager - that U want to celebrate it by getting 13 presents, big or small, from each person. Imagine all the presents! makes U feel special

It depends on which one you think you will get the most out of.

I'd think a laptop would get the most use. It has a lot more uses than an Ipod.
You might get bored of an Ipod as soon as something better comes out.

You would use a laptop for homework, so your parents would be glad and you can watch DVD'S on it, too. Save the IPOD for Christmas.
