Veterinary programs are graduate level programs, like medical school. So, if you're still in high school, what you want to focus in on is finding a college with a solid science undergraduate program. Courses in zoology and animal science are a plus if you plan on applying to Vet school down the road. There are literally thousands of great schools that can get you where you want to go, UTA and A&M are certainly respectable choices. The University of Maryland, the University of colorado, and Cornell are also good for pre-vet science, but there are, as I said, many other schools out there. It is hard to give other recommendations without knowing more about you, and what you are seeking in college.

Purdue University in Indiana has an outstanding veterinary school.. Of course, you have to do pre-vet first ( sort of like pre-med) I've heard veterinary schools are hard to get into, no personal experience w/that tho. Check out this website for them

As mentioned earlier, veterinary school comes after you get your bachelor's degree. For the bachelor's, you can go pretty much anywhere (though obviously, the better the school, the better your chances of getting into vet school afterward). For vet schools, there are only a few in the entire country, so your options are already quite limited. Most are located at halfway-decent schools anyway.

University of Illinois Champaine-Urbana has an outstanding veterinarian school. I believe you need pretty good grades to get in. Check local vets and see where they went to school.

Between the two you listed, I would go for A&M. The people are very nice in that area. It is also a very good school.
