Today I checked my e-mail and found a whole bunch of e-mails from colleges. I was wondering, is it because I did well on my PSAT (I don't know my score yet) Or was it just randomly sent to me.

Thank you.

I know many people who took the PSATs and just for taking them, colleges will start sending stuff, but I'm not sure if your score will affect the colleges sending you stuff.

Unless you have a score that can qualify you for a National Merit Scholarship (an EXCEPTIONALLY high score), PSAT scores are not released directly to any college. They aren't even released for scholarship purposes unless you have given specific permission to do so. What likely has happened is that you filled in a circle on your test that allowed the Educational Testing Service to release your name and address to colleges (or didn't blacken a circle that would have prevented this). Your contact information and interests were forwarded to colleges, who are now trying to recruit you.
