I'll take your interview but first I'd like to say that success is defined differently by everyone. In my point of view, success has nothing to do with money.
1. I define success as being a state of mind. I feel successful when my family is healthy and happy.
2. Becoming successful is not as difficult as remaining successful. First of all, you need a clear goal. I feel that I became a successful person by working hard (be it school, work, volunteering, etc). I never really did anything I didn't want to devote time and effort to, everything I did was done in order to attain a goal. I remain successful by keeping my commitment to my goal and by continuing to work hard. No matter how successful you may feel, success really just means you need continued work and commitment. THAT'S what is difficult for most people. Once they see a goal has been attained they forget that most things go just as easily as they come. You have to continue to work hard to keep your success.
3. So far, I have my BS, MS and I'll be working on my PhD in the near future.
4. No...like I said, I'll be working on my PhD in the near future. Once I get there I'll have achieved my goals.
5. Yes I am. I have a healthy, happy family...I'm totally happy.
6. I'd first tell you that you need a road map. You can't begin a journey without knowing where you're headed, right? Why would you begin a "road to success" without knowing where you want to go? Pick a goal for yourself, where you do envision yourself in ten to fifteen years? Aim for it, research what you need, plan (short & long term) and go for it.
7. Sometimes, the road gets rough, real rough but you cannot give up, you have to keep going. I found myself broke, married, pregnant and still in school when I was almost done with my BS. I kept going, I had to if I was going to achieve my goal. Somehow, I made it through. If you really, really want it then that just means you have to be persistent, if you are, you'll persevere and get wherever it is you want to be. I was once the type of child that everyone called "at risk" an immigrant ten year old, poor, and with no English. Hey, if I can achieve what I have, anyone can!

NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL OF EDUCATION YOU HAVE ALWAYS CONTINUE YOUR EDUCATION. LEARN ALL THAT YOU CAN. THE MORE YOU KNOW THE MORE YOU CAN GIVE.

I am self employed and have had a successful retail store for 33 years. My answers are from that perspective. I could also answer the questions from the perspective of a successful husband, father and grandfather. Success has many definitions.
1. Financial ability to provide for one's family. Financial ability to continue the business.
2. Hard work and persistence
3. No higher education (college) just ability and willingness to learn from the world around me.
4. No. I had hoped to be more financially secure. Bad decisions on my part, changing customer market, poor health of my wife have all contributed to a less than comfortable current situation.
5. No
6. Pick an area you are naturally drawn to. Something you enjoy and can continue to enjoy as you age. Something you are willing to pursue 7 days a week and uncounted hours per week. Get the necessary education for that field the learn directly from those who are successful in that field. We willing to work for free just to get the education and experience.
7. Choose your wife/husband very carefully. 90% of you happiness or sorrow will come from that one decision. You need someone you love to share your success with.

1. To me success is being comfortable with what you have accomplished in life.
2. I made an effort to get along with everyone with whom I worked, supervisors, subordinates, etc., regardless of whether I liked them personally. I tried to treat everyone the same.
3. I needed four years of college and on the job experience.
4. No. I never imagined that I would do the things I have done, meet the people I have met and live as comfortably as I have.
5. Yes, very.
6. Get an education, either academic or technical, depending upon your interests. Be positive about your future, and don't allow bumps in the road to slow you down.
7. Treat everyone you encounter with respect and make an effort to get along. You never know when they may become your supervisor or when you may need their assistance. Yours or your business' sucess may some day depend upon them.

1. through my life my definition of success keeps on changing for me. i used to define it in terms of money and material things. right now i define it as being able to constantly change as the environment around me changes. i think their comes a point where u need to accept yourself and be happy with where u r at.
2. i am constantly changing my goals as circumstances in my own life changes.
3. i got a bachelors of science in accounting and took miscellaneous courses here and there. u need to constantly educate yourself. learning doesn't end when u graduate hs or colelge.
4. no i did not imagine myself where i am at. i used to always have these grand dreams that i would of owned my own house now and be better financially. i never thought i would be able to raise a child and be married.
5 happy isn't constant. i think content is the correct term, i am very content with my life. noone is happy all the time.
6.your road to success begins within yourself. always think before u act. don't act on impulse, think of the results of your actions. one mistake can change your whole life.
7. i would advise u to really think about what u want to do with your life. think of a career u would enjoy. if for instance u want to be an accountant, go shadow an accountant to see if this is really what u want to do. do alot of research in a field to see if this is really where u want to be.
