How wonderful it would be if men could experience menstruation too ! You have to experience it to know what we have to go through month after month, year after year. It's not for nothing that it is called 'the curse'
And your problem seems small in comparision.

Actually that's a bad generalization to make--that all women go crazy before and during their periods.

Yeah, some do, but actually psychological studies have shown that there's really not THAT big of a change in mood--certainly not what people make it out to be. That is, if she's healthy. Her hormones may be off, which is certainly possible, and she would need to consult a doctor.

Otherwise, you may just be basing her bad moods on her menstrual cycle, and it may make you think she really does go more crazy than usual when not a whole lot has changed. (It's not a bad thing, everybody does it.) If you're not overestimating, wait until she's off her period and talk with her about the possibility of needing to talk to a doctor about severe symptoms.

Best thing to do in the mean time if you're getting worked up over it is to just take some time away from it. Like one of the other answers, take a walk, find something to do for a while. It may help both of you calm down.

Perhaps she should see a doctor. Contrary to ignorant stereotypes, that's not normal. It could be another anxiety problem that she is blaming on her cycle. Sometimes women under stress consume too much sugar, caffeine, cigarettes, etc and they get hyper and dehydrated, and blame it on "hormones." Nothing to do with it - they just ate too much sugar and got too wound up.

Please show her my answer: I'm female and this is a sincere suggestion. She should see a doctor.

By the way, I've never had such issues, ever, and I'm healthy and fertile and in my 30's. Good luck.

We are not out of control. Please. You don't want to see us out of control. However, we are dealing with insane hormone fluctuations on top of crazy physical symptoms, including lots of pain, and bleeding out of an orifice. You would not be a bundle of joy under these circumstances, either. The last time you had to deal with adverse physical conditions, like a bad cold or exhaustion, were you a happy pile of kittens? Probably not, but at least the entire human race was sympathetic, and not just half of it.

you don't seem to know what makes up the menstrual Flo.

Every month a woman makes an endomitrium. If an egg isn't fertilized then the endomitrium starts ripping itself from the uterus wall.

You would be out of control to if your body was ripping itself apart.

there is no way your wife could control her emotions due to some hormonal activity in her, if you would like to stop this monthly routine of exiting your house, take your wife to a doctor and ask for hormonal control pills
