I want to ask for a week off from work and take a spontaneous(sp?) road trip to Florida w/ my hubby!

I have a family member who did exactly what I want to do a few years ago and they said Florida is a great place go in Oct. Really nice hotels for cheap, a whole lot of fun! Obviously October has passed by, but I will forget this craving in a few weeks and it will come back next year around September or October as it always does. But I want to be prepared (in a sense) when that craving comes back.

What is the:
Best Dates????
Best part of Florida????
Best Hotels ????
Best Sites ????
I've already seen Disneyworld (both of them CA. FL.)

Thanks!

A nice addition to your road trip would be the Ocean Shore Scenic Highway. It's 7.3 miles of unobstructed ocean view along A1A near Daytona. Stop at Flagler or Beverly Beach or any of the many camping, picnicking, or fishing spots....bicycle, jog or walk the numerous trails....easily accessible in the parks and recreational areas along the way.

I live in FL and every summer I go to Sand Key in Clearwater. The hotels might be a bit pricey, but its gorgeous! The best time to come to the beach is July-September. So, now that it's November I'd go to Orlando, FL and spend the day at Islands of Adventure. It's sooo much fun if you love roller coasters! I'm sure you can get hotels for cheap in Orlando. It just depends on how much you want to spend. Good luck!

May sound corney but I book roadtrips for my clients that include sports packages. The way it works is, You pick any team and any city. For example, lets say you want to drive to Chicago to see the Chicago bears. The package includes 3 days 2 nights hotel and tickets to any game. it also includes a mvp party and more freebies. It only costs about $300.00 per person.
Ask your travel agent if they offer a deal like that. Your husband would think you are the greatest.

Many years ago, I drove to the panhandle of Florida for a few days. Stayed in the Ft. Walton Beach - Destin area. The color and texture of the sand on the beach is absolutely outstanding. You will remember it for the rest of your life. A very nice and relaxing area. Affordable.
