I'm having trouble getting started and I have to do the comparisons of the nucleus, nucleolus, ribosome, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi body, cell membrane, mitochondria, chloroplast, lysosome, chromosomes, vacuoles, cytoskeleton and I have to compare them to a ant colony.

i.e. The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell which means its like the ant workers. And that's all I can think of. Any help is appreciated.

The mitochondria would be like the powerhouse.
In plant cells, chloroplasts perform photosynthesis (energy production).

The chromosomes contain the DNA, which is all the genetic information, so that could be compared to blueprints, a library, etc.

Vacuoles maintain homestasis so they help to protect, do maintenance, etc.

Golgi bodies sort proteins, so they work to categorize, arrange, etc.

the E.R. fold proteins and lipids, making them like builders.

The cell membrane is the cell's protection, or security.

Lysosomes break down molecules, so they help clean up.

Hope theses ideas help you find the right direction.

Wouldn't the nucleus be like the queen?
