My party (the "peace lovers) is mulling over the idea of re-instating the draft. Any thoughts?

I just think it shows the hypocritical nature of the Democrat Party. Anyone remember that not too long ago they were spreading rumors that President Bush was going to restart the draft. The uproar from these people was deafening.....And it wasn't even true!! Now because that idiot is suggesting it, it's such a great idea??!!!! You can't even make this stuff up.

Rangel is just doing that to make the point that the armed forces are disproportionately made up from poor and minority young people and he thinks every class of society should have to sacrifice equally. Rangel knows his bill has no chance in hell of being passed, but he is trying to make a statement about how we might not jump into conflicts so quickly (like Iraq) if our leaders and their rich campaign contributors had to sacrifice their own children for war.

Its a great idea!!! So many of today's young people are arrogant and undisciplined.They think that everything is supposed to be their way and the rules don't apply to them. A stint in the military would be just the reality check so many of today's kids need!
