Prestons is in South-Western Sydney and is approx 40 km's from downtown Sydney. (I lived there)...... why dont you just get the person from Prestons to buy their own bear from their local liquor store (theres a few on the Hume Highway at Casula and also in Casula mall).

Mate, Prestons is about 60 klm WEST of Sdney past Liverpool. A cab would cost a fortune. Why not find out where the nearest Bottle Shop, as we call them here(takeaway alcohol) is to wherever the beer is going and get them to free home deliver. I'm sure you could pay with Visa,etc, should be no problem.
In Australia look up White Pages, (OZ phone book) Bottle Shops, Prestons. Cheers, Hope your Beer makes it.

Use an ordinary taxi. Get a quote from the driver and pay that (or arrange for payment at the other end), and get the driver's ID. This works late in the day when courier companies won't guarantee delivery by close of business, and is usually cheaper than a courier. I'm not sure if it is legal.
