If you're in America I'm not sure how easy these authors will be to get a hold of, they are Scottish like Irvine Welsh.
A couple of good Christopher Brookmyre books are "One Fine Day In the Middle of the Night" or "Quite Ugly One Morning" both darkly funny.
Then there is Alan Warners book "The Sopranos" (nothing to do with the TV show) also dark humour, or Alan Spences' "Way To Go".
A new release over here in the UK is a book called "The One" by Paul Reed (Edinburgh native) and Irvine Welsh recommends it as great writing. I have it but haven't read it, judging by the first couple of chapters it is going to be a good one though.
I could recommend dozens of Scottish authors to you but they are probably more relevant if you know this place, if you do, try Des Dillons "Me and My Gal" funny and moving.

If you are in The States I'd suggest you read James Freys "A Million Little Pieces" just read it as the fiction it was later revealed to be and I can almost guarantee you will like it. Chuck Palahnuik has also written some decent books, I'd recommend "Choke" to start off on. "Valley of the Dolls" by Jaqueline Susann is an absolute cult classic, slated as trash by some but a great read nonetheless.

As for movies, give Shallow Grave a try, Scottish again and a dark comedy....again. Lock Stock... is a good movie suggested in another answer to you but I think you'd like Snatch better, same director, but to me, funnier and a little more twisted.

I assume you've read all of Irvine Welshs' offerings, if not you ought to follow "Trainspotting" by "Glue" then "Porno" it's a trilogy of sorts and the characters in the first two come together in Porno and we find out what became of the Trainspotters! He has a newly released one called "The Bedroom Secrets of Master Chefs" and although I've yet to read it I expect typical Irvine Welsh greatness.

Karma.
