i put the cd rom in the computer when it said "insert the cd".then it said "we can't install it because the wizard can't find the necessary software

You might try visiting the website for the manufacturer of your printer, download the driver for your particular printer, and install it.

Either your Printer Software CD got corrupted or u are using wrong CD. You can get the replacement CD from the manufacturer. You can also download the printer"s Driver from the Manufacturer's Website.

When I get a new printer I always go to the printer manufature site to download the most current driver. Just select the model of your printer and operating system of your pc and download the appropriete driver. Download the driver to a save file and then install it. You should be able to install your printer. Hope this helps.

Just put your CD into the drive, if it auto plays start the install. If it does'nt, double click my computer and right click on the drive you put the CD in,then click explore, look for the install or exe. file and double click that. Can you install it as a generic printer? An HP Laserjet III? An IBM Proprinter?

browse the cd contents in "my computer" and look for any and all "setup.exe" files or "install.exe"
