If your baby sleeps through the night, count yourself lucky! You might try a naptime routine that will help him realize it's time to sleep, like the same CD or reading a couple books. Darken the room and try to get him to have some calm time at the same time every day, whether he actually naps or not.
In the long run, you've got nothing to worry about - a lot of people have toddlers that don't nap OR sleep soundly at night!

I wouldn't consider an 8 month old capable of being hyper active! all kids love to play!! join her, you will strengthen your bond with her!
If she doesn't sleep during the day, she doesn't sleep! at that age, she needs about 12-14 hours a day.
Do you have a routine you follow?? that is really important! sometimes on the weekend we will get busy & get off routine but my 2/5 year old will always say she's sleepy & ask to go to bed with in an hour of her normal nap time :o) it is amazing!
Try playing, changing, feeding at the same time EVERY day until you get a good routine established. A good idea is to do something soothing before you want ehr to go down for a nap, rock in a chair or read a story. Put her in her crib & shut the door. She may cry for the first week- hold out for as long as you can before checking on her. Try to be strong, she will get the idea & eventually she should lay down and sleep.

Does he seem crabby or tired? If not then he may just not need to sleep during the day. If he does seem to need the sleep try getting him on a routine so he lays down at teh same time every day. Make sure he has a chance to wind down before naps. Hold him in a dimly lit area, rock him, and or read to him. This will give his little mind a chance to relax.

I have a 9 month old daughter, she sleeps 2 times during the day and all night. The way I do it is that i breastfeed her, but you are bottle feeding, so my advice is to put him in his crib at the time you want him to nap, leave the room and just let him fall asleep, of course if he cries, check on him and see if he needs your attention, otherwise let him be. It should work.

Fruit has a lot of natural sugar, so try to feed more veggies and cereal. Some babies are also just more active than others. My niece kicked her mom more than 100 times a minute before she was born and she is 9 now and still hyper.
