I have always been interested in African culture esp. Egypt and one of my college buddies married a BEAUTIFUL Arab girl from Egypt. (she really looks hispanic to me). (I am a history buff)

HERE IS THE SITUATION: We engaged in a convo about Egypt and during the process our discussion she was very offended I called Egypt an African civilization. She said that Egypt is the Middle East in Africa. I told her you can call it what you like, Egypt may have Middle Eastern culture but it is still African. She became more angry. (I was really confused about that) She also was offended N. Africa mostly Blk. She said that N Africa is white Africa; at this point I ended the discussion b/c I became offended. It seemed that Old Europe still has colonial ownership around her brain.

MY QUESTION:
1. Why do many N. Africans esp. Arabs make a VERY INTENTIONAL effort to distance themselves from Sub Sahara Africa?
2. Why is it that N. Africa distain anything Blk when they are on a blk continent?

I can only really answer #1.

Compare what North Africans have a chieved in regards to culture and civilization to Sub-Saharan Africans. N. Africans had a lot more going for them than the Sub Saharan Africans did/do. I lived in South Africa for over 17 years so I know all about Sub-Saharans Africans.
North African's are generally much nicer people and have less crime, disease, poverty than compared to Sub-Sahara African's. I've met both types and so I think I'd make a good judge of characters. My bet is that N. Africans know they are different from S-s Africans and they hate it when people think all Africans in Africa are the same.

I think some people in North African are of mixed ancestry but not White. Pure White people can not survive generation after generation in hot African, it's just not possible. I know some Arabs of Afro-Arab descent. I believe in the theory of evolution that human kind began in East African. Some of those early hominids moved out of Africa to Asia and then to Europe. These people are still direct descendants of Africans but their phenotypes changed over time due to the climate. That's why race really isn't correct, because everyone is of African descent is just some, such as people living in the African Diaspora are of direct or more recent African ancestry. There is a large amount of phenotype opportunities in African especially in North Africa, so Africans are the most phenotypically diverse people in the world. I hate people say "******* features" or "White features" because their really no such thing. Africans are the parents of the human race so maybe lighter people adopted their traits from Africans not the other way around.

Actually, the Egytian populace of today is a melting pot of races including Nubians (black Africans) In fact Nubians ruled ancient Egypt for many centuries. They are not totally sure of the race of ancient Egyptians because they were semetic but blended with black and Asian races.

What can I say: It is the Race card. People in the US are not the only racists in the world

They are Arabs and believe they are better than the black man of Africa its original inhabitants. Right now they are systematically killing all of the black pastoral people who have inhabited that land for generations and taking their land and herds and practicing genocide of those people. Look at durfur, they are racist against those people in fact against any people that is not Arab. If they could they would do the same in western civilization.

i think of we've 3 countless issues right here, and that they are very diverse Africa is a continent. A continent has many nationalities and somewhat some languages i think of many human beings right that's at a loss for words. isn't the comparable nationality than ethnicity. to that end, many of the arab countries share comparable lang and ethnicity, with small variations. Languages are alive and in everlasting substitute, some human beings upload words from yet another languages and after a million or 2 generations no one remember the place that word got here from. additionally, some words substitute because of the fact their way of pronunciation. that's something this is finished without thinking and that supplies each and each united states of america its very own thank you to talk. each and each united states of america has its "argot". that occurs in each and all the languages international it rather isn't any longer because of the fact the ethnicity or the nationalities. So..i ought to assert that sure, maximum of north african human beings could nicely be seen arabs.
