i work in the stationary and realized that computers and cashiers never did there job the store was closed and the manager was ready to go home when i noticed it i asked her if i should do it she said yes and was mad. I always get asked to do stuff that others didnt too. Will this help me any?

I know it may not seem like your boss notices, but trust me, she does! i own a business myself. I take note of those employees that go above and beyond. My husband was in sales for a lot of years and wondered the same thing. He was always the first one there, last one to leave. He is a manager now. Someone will notice! Hang in there!

I did that for years. I had a huge department and always finished early and spent the last 2 hours doing other people's departments. My reward for all those years of doing extra work, I made one mistake in judgement and was fired on the spot. Believe me it will get you know were but extra work. It's not worth the effort because the only ones that get noticed are those department managers that spend their whole shift on one project.

it could.but be careful you are "showing up" your co workers and they may start talking bad about you and the boss could hear this bad talk .make sure the boss knows the jobs you are doing. you should go to the boss and tell them that you are working harder and maybe even ask for a raise. but be careful this is job politics and you could lose.

I believe you asked her, correct? So you brought it on yourself. You should of just went home like the rest if you didn't want to do the extra work.
