I just bought it tonight. I plugged it into my computer and it turned on, no problem, half battery life. But windows wouldn't recognize it, so I tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in. When I did that, it shut off and now it won't come back on. Anybody have a similar experience or know for sure that I screwed it up or something? I just got the thing and I'm already wishing I had listened to the nay-sayers and bought something else.

I tried the reset feature after visiting the help section at the apple site. Nothing happened.

Are you using iTunes with it? If so, get the latest version off Apple's website. Then, have that open when you plug your iPod into your computer. Also, make sure you are using a USB port on your computer itself and not the keyboard. iTunes should recognize it and show it in the list. If not, check Apple's website. They have some nice troubleshooting tips for using iPods with Windows and Mac computers
