I've just been wondering where the former Thai prime minister Thaksin is now? Last time we know he came to London and since then we have not heard anything about him? Perhaps have UK grantyted him a political asylum or maybe a refugee status? I would not be surprised.

Reference 1 is the latest on his whereabouts. He just left Bali for Hong Kong. He has been traveling and spending time close to Thailand. The rumor is that he is trying to come back. However, it is way too soon. After awhile people could forget a lot about his problem allowing him to sneak in or actually come back to Thailand.
His family is still in Thailand (ref. 2).
