Our family decided to travel one year for the holiday. As always, traveling with a small munchkin can be time consuming...you know...stopping for a bathroom every 2 hours...then snack...then going back to get the forgotten bear.

We finally got so far behind our Thanksgiving meal was eaten at 9 PM in a restaurant. When our meal arrived at the table my little brother, 3-years-old at the time, looked at his plate of turkey, looked at my mom, looked back at the plate, looked at the waitress and said, "Where's my box and toy?"

Yea, he was a take-out kid!

My fondest memory was at a family reunion on the banks of the Verde River near Cottonwood Arizona under some huge pecan trees. It was picnic style outside .A pot luck Thanksgiving get together that was perfect in every way.I had a moment playing horseshoes with my Dad and my Uncle when everything went into slow motion and I knew I would never forget that incredible moment.Neither saw another summer as they both passed on from lung cancer in the spring within two weeks of each other but every Thanksgiving I am reminded of that moment playing horseshoes when time stood still for a moment. That was my fondest memory but I was 44 .Hardly a child but I was born immature
