for the racing crowd it is. k&n filters are supposed to give your car additional 2 to 5 horses in terms of hp. the standard air flow & filters of a car are a little restrictive. after-market filters like k&n allows more air to flow inside the engine. moreso so if you install a CAI or cold air intake system where the air comes outside the engine compartment.

2006 Pontiac GTO says yes to K&N cold air intake system at almost $300 dollars and 15 hp gain well worth the money. Cat back exhaust $475 dollars and 10 more horsepower not quite as good for the money. Predatior Diablo power programer $465 dollars and almost 50 horsepower at 6,500 rpms on a Dyno-Jet. Very good improvement. Sway bars short throw shifter WANT TO RACE!

KnN filters can be good sometimes but any other aftermarket filters are as good for a smaller price good like AEM's Dry-Flo filter that does not need oil when cleaning the filter and because of that wont damage any sensors but still has superior filtration and low restriction for a pretty low price

Yep. You gain gas mileage, because it allows more air to pass through it than a regular filter. I dont recommend their oil filters. The air filters are pricey, but they have a 1,000,000 mile warranty and you only need to clean them at every oil change.

Having worked in the auto parts business for several years,I can
agree with your previous answers. However,K&N is not recom-
mende for all applications.Any reputable parts dealer can tell you
Whether it is compatable to your specific vehicle.
