A batting average of .350 means that Kyler hits an average of 350 out of 1000 at bats. This is equivalent to 350/1000 or 35%.

Assuming he keeps this rate, it is a simple multiplication to estimage the number of times he will hit.

20 times at bat x 0.350 batting average = 7 hits

You can also do this as a pair of ratios:
350 ..... x
------ = ----
1000 ... 20

Cross multiplying:
1000x = 7000
x = 7000/1000
x = 7 hits
