I am an upper clansman in high school. This year my family is having financial difficulties and I can not afford expensive gifts. I need ideas for gifts for about 10-15 friend and family members.

Dollar store was a good point they have mugs with candy in them.. 1 dollar each for every memeber spending about under 20 bucks?
I am sure your family would understand times are tough...
Another idea if your good at baking...make some brownies or cookies. Buy some christmas decorated tins again at the dollar store and some of that party tissue paper to make it look a little fancy when they open it.
Can't go wrong with sweets for the sweet tooth.

These are just suggestions: baking cookies? Everyone gets about 1-2 dozen cookies. You can package them up nicely with a nice card.

You can also let your friends and family know this is going to be a "simple" Christmas because of your financial situation. Everyone should understand.

You may be able to lessen the number of gifts you are buying through a gift exchange. With your family members and friends as well- put names in a hat and draw one. Buy 1 gift for a set amount (say, $15-$20). This way you can limit the number of gifts you are buying and how much you are spending.

You can also give out "coupons." Maybe for a house cleaning, babysitting, pet sitting, cooking a meal at home, etc. Then the gift recipient can turn in the coupon when needed.

This question is difficult becouse what may be inexpensive to one person is not to anouther.Personally I think buying gifts for 10-15 friends is crazy! I mean I love my friends but thats a lot of $$$ and as a working married women I couldn't afford it! Can I suggest a box of cards and a personal message to each of your friends in it? If you have a talent for drawing or poetry or hand craft how bout putting that to use? There's always the dollor stores and to be honest they have some cool stuff sometimes. When it comes right down to it for the people who really matter and care anything will mean a lot, it really is the thought that counts and the people that care about you will understand your financial situation and just be happy that you thought about them.

Women and girls usually enjoy candles. You can buy really pretty ones at the dollar store or .99 cent store (depends on what part of the country you live in). To make the presentation special for the recipient make the candle holder yourself. A slab of bark, tile, cracked dish, or anything that is pretty, then with the old glue gun in hand, glue on ribbon, twigs, holly berries, holly, buttons to go around the candle. For males, if they aren't the candle type, at the same store you can buy all kinds of odds and ends. ear phones, a compass, accessories for cellphones, a scarf, albums, small ones that you can put copies of some pictures of the male and /or yourself, The packaging should be the pretty also. get out the pipe cleaners and sequins and the faithful old glue gun again and go to work, Your gifts will be special because your friends and family will see that you put a lot of yourself into their gift. Happy Christmas

One time I wrote out 30 jokes on small pieces of paper, taped them together, put them in a bottle and put a label on it that said: A laugh a day keeps the doctor away! It was a big hit! Another time, I gathered up photos from the past and made place mats out of them. I found out alot of interesting information about other family members. Anything from the heart will work. That sounds old fashioned, but it's true. Some of the things I value the most are things that were MADE for me and not simply bought FOR me.

Cheap picture frames at Michael's or WalMart. You can put a picture of you w/ the friend or family member in the frame as a gift.
Make cookies. People love homemade stuff. Put them in cute bags w/ ribbons and a recipe card. Very sweet.
Hope this helps :D
