Aside from Kryptonite already mentioned, if he's exposed to red solar radiation that takes away all his powers and he's just a normal dude.
Magic affects his powers.

Sunlight from a red sun robs him of his powers, making him vulnerable (able to be hurt and feel pain) since his home planet of Krypton was in orbit around a red sun. When Krypton exploded, the radiation released made all the chunks of the planet deadly radioactive to Superman and all Kryptonians, so making a way to hurt him.

Kryptonite kills superman! this is because this very valuble yet extremly hard to find gemstone was blown to earth from the explosion of superman's home planet. It causes superman to go into a "paralytic" state. Kryptonite can also be lethal to him if he is stabbed with it, or if he is near it for too long.

GREEN KRYPTONITE makes superman weak and normal thus, anything can kill him at this time. Also, the radiation from the red sun on thier home planet makes him normal, so if exposed to such radiation, anything could kill him at the moment. Ü
Anyway, I don't want superman killed. hehehehe

make him bypass in for a actual at a doctor's or dentist's place of work...and he will make an excuse...yet detect a thank you to get the lead bib on him...for the x-ray. the bib could have a pocket that releases by utilising the pull of a string. out of the pocket drops the kryptonite. Superman could be vulnerable adequate to kill after that. ^_^

Red Kryptonite(Discovered by Batman)-weakens him and detsabilises his system,actually mimics the effects of Radiation of red sun
Red Sun-Weakens him and destabilizes his system

did you ever wonder why the tv superman of the fifties could take all the bullets but he had to duck when the bad guy threw the gun at him...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
i thought krytonite simply made superman weak, or more human like on earth.
superman could have died on krypton with his family.
as for death on earth, i don't know.
