Why does he have to do anything. He could skip the dance! Now, if you are talking about an awards thing, he still doesn't have to take a date. There are usually singles at all functions. Why force him into something he's not ready for. Let him find someone, IF he chooses to. He is not you!

I'm sorry i agree with "not a too" I'm 13 quite a bit on the chunky side myself so i understand who your brother is but i don't see why he should even have to go with a girl let him go with his Friends or have a party of his own with his Friends you'll find he be allot less nervous and will have allot more fun trust me I'm the same way and about the same age and struggle too

Good Lord - why do kids want to rush into dating.
Tell him to go along by himself and meet up with friends. He will still have fun regardless.

tell him to not worry and go to the dance solo or with his friends.
if he is a good dancer - tell him to dance by himself and watch how all the other girls that went to the dance by themselves go up to him and ask him to dance.
do not sweat the pressure of having to go with a date to the dance.
sometimes the best dates are the ones we don't have, yet.

Well, he should start talking to girls and ask them to go to the dance with him, start talking and stop laying on his bed playing video games
