If you connect from your computer running Windows XP Workstation to shared folders on any other computers running Windows XP. However, no other computers can connect to the shared folders on your computer. In addition, although you are logged on as Administrator, your shared folders do not appear with the shared symbol in Windows XP Explorer.
What is the likely cause of the problem?

First check your workgroup. make sure they are part of the same workgroup.

Secondly check you IP configuratiopn to make sure that they are on the same network

Thirdly make sure file and print sharing is enabled

Well, as a first step, have you enabled file/printer sharing on your XP? If file sharing is not enabled, you'll be able to see/share files on other computers, but not on your own.
