In Internet Explorer, you have to go to Tools>Content>Settings(in the autocomplete section)>Check remember passwords and usernames on forms>Check prompt me to save passwords, and you should get a prompt on if IE should save the password. In yahoo, check remember my ID whn you are signing in.

If you have firefox it remembers all passwords and logins for you.
