This spyware removal software is very good and it is free. CNet gives it a very high rating and so does ZDnet. You can download it and then run it about once per week.

Spyware is more of a threat to computers than a virus.
Go to Hitman.nl and download their software suite. It runs several anti-spyware programs consecutively (and unattended.) This is the most effective way to rid your computer of spyware
Most of it is in Dutch, but you shoulf be able to figure our the download button. . Once you got the download, the directions will be available in English. Try it.

Yes, you should worry about it!!!
Are you trying to tell me that you don't have a security program installed in your computer? If yes, then you should start thinking about getting one ASAP.
For now, go to Norton site and use their free scanning program to see what has infected your computer. Go to that program, connect to it and follow instructions very closely and carefully!
Another thing you can do is to download the Yahoo toolbar and use the free tools that come with the bar.
Good luck

If you got this in a popup while surfing the net, DO NOT CLICK ON THE MESSAGE!!!!
If you already did, its too late...when you clicked on the message, your computer connected to a bad site on the internet and download a bunch of nasty stuff into your computer. I assume that you do NOT currently have protection on your computer. Cleaning this is NOT going to be fun. If it were me (I'm an IT consultant), I would do the following in order...
1a/ Turn OFF system restore.
1b/ Create a folder at root of your c drive called tools.
2/ download the following software to this folder
a/ Winpatrol from http://www.winpatrol.com
b/ Avast Antivirus from http://www.avast.com
c/ SuperAntiSpyware from http://www.superantispyware.com
d/ Microsoft Windows Defender from http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
3/ Completely disconnect from the Internet (pull the cable)
4/ Restart in safe mode (search if you dont know how)
5/ Install winpatrol - disable all startups, scan services set to auto, review HOSTS file for redirects. Kill running tasks that I know are not legit.
6/ Install Avast and schedule immediate boot time scan. Boot normally when done.
7/ Install SuperAntispyware
8/ Install Windows Defender
9/ reboot normally and review startups and running tasks in winpatrol. Kill anything I dont want running.
10/ Connect to internet
11/ Update Avast and Superantispyware
12/ Disconnect from internet and scan for spyware and schedule another avast boot scan.
13/ Reconnect to internet and immediately go to windows update. Download ALL critical updates (including IE7)
14/ restart and review winpatrol startups and active tasks again. If something keeps coming back, search liutilities.com to see what it may be and how to remove it if needed.
15/ Turn on system restore.
PRAY THAT THESE STEPS GOT THE BUG OUT.

The first thing I would try is Microsoft Windows Defender. This is a free tool from Microsoft and I find it highly effective. You can find it here...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&displaylang=en
If this doesn't do the trick for you, then there are other tools that you will have to pay some small amount for that may work for you. All of these have free trial versions available. So you can download and test before you buy.
Here is a list.

http://watersaffl.adalert.hop.clickbank.net?tid=YAHOOANS

Surely something here can help you.
Good luck!

i'm a working laptop or workstation forensics professional for the federal government. right this is the undesirable information (and that's all undesirable). There are actually not any AV classes that are any stable. Why might I say that. First, by definition, AV classes are reactive, i.e. the incredibly basically seize undesirable actors while they have been pointed out. that's extremely analogous to biomedical analyze on viruses - first you may desire to p.c. out them, and basically then are you able to discover a "therapy". maximum energetic viruses (that's extraordinarily much a meaningless term) have not even been pointed out. in spite of this, the only incredibly safeguard thank you to maintain your "stuff" secure is to encrypt your data (i take advantage of PGP application) and then all of us can "hack" your workstation, however the data they get would be ineffective. additionally, shop all your incredibly inner maximum stuff, financials, love letters :-) and so on. on a working laptop or workstation that (a million) in no way gets on the cyber web (2) shop your stuff encrypted, so as that whether somebody steals your compture, the data would be ineffective (even the U. S. government can no longer decrypt the data). i'm specific that's no longer the respond you extremely needed to pay attention, even with the undeniable fact that it interior of reason precise. And do pass check out PGP application on the cyber web. It has super "white papers" on secure practices, and so on. Anti-undercover agent ware/virus/keylogger/ghost classes basically artwork on the barest minimum of secure practices. wish I helped.

It's malware. Run your anti-virus software, but that won't always detect it. Better yet, download ewido anti-malware suite. It's free and should remove it. Whatever you do, DON'T click on it.
