OMG i'm a freshmen and it's completely different then you expect. Yes you may miss your "old" friends but highschool is better. But on the first week of school BE THE MOST OUTGOING PERSON EVER!!! I'm usually shy and timid, but as time went on i made more and more frends. I may not know EVERYONE but i kno a fair share. But i still wish i took the chance to be outgoing.Don't be afraid, take the chance or you'll lose it. Highschool is completely different from middle school. You actually can become friends with upperclassmen. And plus don't try to act tough against upperclassmen. They're higher than you are and that's why they should get more respect. Yes it may seem annoying as hell as i see it, but that's just the way it is.
Also join A LOT of clubs. right now i'm in SIX!! and i'm running for freshmen official.
so all i have to say is to be outgoing and do not be a afraid.

I am a freshmen in high school right now. I'm afraid that since I go to a private Catholic high school my high school experience isn't what the average American experiences. I can tell you, however, that high school is really fun. There are a lot of new people that you can meet, with all different types of personalities and styles and everything. Don't try to hard to label yourself, find a bunch of friends that you can relate to, and have fun. Classes aren't hard, you'll just need to keep up by doing all of your homework and studying for tests. It's not that different from middle school, except that you're faced with more decisions, more people, more situations, more classes, more oppurtunities. Have fun!

Step 1: RELAX!!-i'm a freshman, i was in your place a year ago-FREAKED OUT-fotunetly-here to help you
Step 2: talk to your friends, do you have sibling in the HS do any of your friends?
Step 3: Most schools offer visitation days at the end of your 8th grade year, a week/days before scool starts, or even let you come an hour or so early on the first day, fotunetly my school did all, maby yours does... if your elementry/MS are seperate, did you ever visit the MS before starting?
Step 4: Do you know of any clubs/music happining prior to school starting? If you play an instroment, most marching bands have 'band camp' and clubs meet before to talk to freshmen
or try a sport, they practice before school starts in fall, also helps you with agoal: make varsity team
Step 5: Know what to expect(more) go to your guidence counsiler or a favorite teacher
Beware: Cliques, and a harder couse laod, be prepared!!
there may be upperclassmen in your classes, be friends to them
GOOD LUCK!! HAVE FUN!! HS is the best time of your life!!!!

iam going to highschool next year too. And ive asked the same question. Well ill tell you so far what i know about it. You have to learn alot because your in highschool to get in College you have to learn algebra, spanish, have mid-term test, and do alot of projects.
You should watch out for your classmates remember your freshmens you may know a few people but the rest you dont know highschools tough for 4 years to College. And theres some cliques and gossip be careful .But you'll still have fun with your friends.
Have fun good luck soon.

It depends on you, the school, the people...
One person can go to high school and find it very easy and nothing a big deal. The kid next to him who's in all his classes can spend his time super stressed, struggle with marks, etc.
It's really not any different than school before high school, imho!

hi, what i can share with you is...high school is the best days in my life. you will enjoy the company of your new peers, teachers, and even your seniors. activities are overwhelming and chances are, you can find your best friend for the next years of your stay in high school. but of course, its not all fun, the grades you will create in high school shall be your future. whatever grades you'll get, thats the course you can possibly take up in college. so have fun, enjoy, maximize to the fullest, and always remember study hard for your future rely on what you're doing today.

it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be...
-the course load is alot harder... well, duh every year it seems to get worse dunnit?
-there are serious clique problems
but probably the biggest difference about high school is... especially if you've going to the same school with the same people your whole life -- people seriously change. like people you've known your whole life seem to have completely different personalities. but otherwise, life goes on IT'S REALLY NOT BAD.

It really depends on how hard working person you are. But, also it can depend on the school and your teachers.
