i am supposed to start my af on friday, this morning when i got up i felt like i could throw up and had some cramps so i got a hpt and it was postive. my question is this happened to me back in july i took 5 they were all + but blood work said neg. dr ordered ultrasound and showed i had a small cysts on my right ovary. has anyone had this happen to them? and does anyone know if having a cyst could affect the hpt, i have heard some people say that it does and others say that it doesnt. I am really confused, any help would be appreciated thank you

my sister had the same problem and and ultrasound confirmed she had polycystic ovary syndrome which cause late periods or pro longed periods and things like that! it some times can affect a pregnancy test & its results.

if u have the same problem as my sister u should be able to have another ultra sound which will tell u for sure if u are pregnant this time around.......

although my sis has had to have some sort of medication to help her fall pregnant cysts dont always stop u from falling pregnant. i have one or two of them and i am 1 week overdue with my second child!

my advice would be not to ignore the positive result and see your Dr, u could be pregnant this time for real. good luck i hope u get the result u are looking for.

p.s cysts arent always necessarily a problem so try no to worry. if u are pregnant when u have ultrasounds if they are seen during the scan doc will know if they will be a problem or not! as for me they didnt cause a prob at all...

You should go back to the doctor for another test and possibly an ultrasound, you need to know what is happening. I have heard of cysts that cause pregnancy tests to turn postive, so please go back to your doctor and get some examinations done ASAP.

I think that your best bet is to go to the doctor and get an ultra sound done to see whats going on.

Best of luck to ya
