What if porn is used by a husband and wife as part of a normal healthy sex life?
The question you are asking is "does the way some people use pornography help/hinder society?"
If someone is staring at it 24hours a day then its a bad thing.
Used occasionally as part of a loving relationship isn't the same thing.

Porn actors are just like the professionals in any given career, be it sports, thespian, medicine--they are playing a role where they demonstrate the most profound method to show the voyeur how to achieve personal satisfaction by indulging in sexual acts.
