Wish you had mentioned what kind of material the pants were made of!
If they are delicate materials or white, you can make your own presoak and stain remover with 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 8 parts water. Immerse in the solution for 5 minutes ... and check every 5 minutes to see if the stain is lifting...for up to 30 minutes. The rinse in clear, cool water.
Automatic dish washing detergent can be used on some fabrics when you do not have spot remover. Make a paste .. ( some flakes and a little water) and then use an old toothbrush to gently work out the stain. I'd recommend working from the inside out...not from the visible side.
For non-washable fabrics, vinegar is good, as mentioned, but if you do not have any, make a solution of mild detergent (dishwashing soap or laundry soap..even shampoo) and a few DROPS of ammonia. Be sure to rinse in clear, cool water.
Always test any solution on a hidden part of the fabric..like inside the waistband or a pocket that does not show!

www.howtocleananything.com advises to presoak in vinegar before laundering in the washing machine on approppriate cycle, but small spot test won't hurt. Good luck.
