ok, so there are animes like naruto and cardcaptor sakura that just name the series after the main character, and pet shop of horrors that name it the main point of the story but what about animes like bleach and D.Gray-man that have titles that (i think) have nothing to do with the storyline. if anyone knows what these titles mean, please tellme....

Bleach is called that beacause of Ichi's hair. xD

And D. Gray-Man (pwnsome series) was a random name with absolutely no relevance to the series thought up by the mangaka. It's on a bonus page of one of the volumes. ^^

Very untrue. The TRUE reason why Bleach is Bleach is because its named after a Nirvana album. I hear alot of people say that its his hair. But i read up on the true reason on a issue of Shonen Jump.

Now, D Gray Man. I havent read the manga nor intend to. But i have been watching the anime. So i havent looked up much behind such facts on this series like it's name. But im sure it's just a decently well thought up name. Titles are made whenever the creator deems them right in their minds. Back to the point with Bleach. The creator likes alot of music. Thats why he named the show after one of his favorite albulms. You can also tell by certain things in the manga and sometimes during the show that are music related. You have to be a keen music geek as well to notice these.

Fruits Basket.

Tohru Honda seems alienated even as a child and when the kids around her played the game, her name will be 'riceball' which isn't a fruit. Every kid calls for fruits like apple, banana, pear...etc but no one called for riceball...so she's left alone.

This is a very good story but it's not really about that, it's about the curse on the Sohma family. I love it.

Some anime titles don't have any relevence to the story per se.

The creators sometimes just make things up, or put names together just becuase they sound KEWL.
